It’s fitting my last public engagement as superintendent was at Gardiner Elementary today with my friend Principal Larry Perlman who’s also retiring. I’m so happy I could be at Gardiner’s fifth grade promotion ceremony to celebrate the end of the school year.

Ribbon cutting on the new Future Ready Manufacturing Center, a partnership with USD259, City of Wichita and WSU Tech! This will serve students from Wichita high schools to begin careers in aviation/manufacturing! Wichita, we’re building a workforce! #WPSProud #WSUTechProud

This afternoon we hosted a ribbon-cutting event and logo reveal in partnership with WSU Tech, to celebrate the completion of the FutureReady Manufacturing Center where students get hands-on experiences in aviation and manufacturing. @wsutech

Today I got to reward my friend, Queen, from Harry Street Elementary, who committed to a reading goal and made it! I promised her a Twix candy bar, so today I delivered it. #WPSProud @HarryStreetElem

This morning I participated in the Talent Roadmap Manufacturing Workshop at our Future Ready Center. It was a great opportunity to share the many ways our district is preparing students for the future workforce. The future is in our classrooms! @Greater_Wichita @wsutech

We're so excited to announce Melissa Haney, left, a science teacher at Explorer Elementary School, Goddard Unified School District 265, & Joanna Farmer, an ag teacher at Southeast High School, Wichita USD 259, as Region 4 finalists for the 2024 Kansas Teacher of the Year award.

Thanks to Washington Magnet Elementary for inviting me to award the spirit stick at their house battle judging! I also got to spin the wheel and became an honorary member of Amistad. I love the community they’re building at Washington!
