I'm always here to help you fine folks; and in this case, that means to prevent you from misattributing this oft-repeated anecdote to Spurgeon.😜. "I have heard of some divine of a very hyper school indeed, who said, 'Ah! blessed be the Lord, there are some of God's dear people.

"I consider very often that the inferences drawn from prophecy are very little better, after all, than the guesses of the Norwood gipsey, and that some people who have been so busy in foretelling the end of the world, would have been better employed if they had foretold the end.

Thank God for children. Through them we see much of how our heavenly Father loves and cares for us; may we not waste a moment to acknowledge our gratitude and love for His kindness towards us. Meditate today on what the Lord's adoption of us as sons and daughters means, in that

"Many despise prayer: they despise it, because they do not understand it. He who knoweth how to use the sacred art of prayer will obtain so much thereby, that from its very profitableness he will be led to speak of it with the highest reverence.".—CHS.

It is shocking to me that so many left wing politicians attack the idea of prayer in response to a tragedy. Literally no one thinks prayer is a substitute for action. We pray because our hearts are broken and we believe that God is listening.

"When Mr. [Rowland] Hill was some years ago in Scotland, he was introduced to an aged minister, somewhat resembling himself in piety and eccentricity. The old man looked at him for some time very earnestly, and at length said, 'Weel, I have been looking for some teem at the leens

"The Christian will tell you that he weeps over his very tears; he feels that there is filth even in the best of desires; that he has to pray to God to forgive his prayers, for there is sin in the midst of his supplications, and that he has to sprinkle even his best offerings.

If someone is at all related to Christian ministry and says things like "It's not religion, it's a relationship!" we should be very wary. Biblical Christianity is the one True Religion amongst a litany of false and ravenous impostors.

"I am quite sure that Arminius never taught his doctrine in heaven. I do not know whether he is there—I hope he is, but he is no longer Arminian; but if he ever taught his doctrine there, he would be put out.". —C.H. Spurgeon, 'The Sympathy of Two Worlds,' No. 203.

C.H. Spurgeon said, "My difficulty is to bring you down to my price, as old Rowland said. He was preaching in a fair, and he heard a man selling his goods. 'Ah!' said he, 'as for those people over there, their difficulty is to bring people up to their price; whereas, my.
