Elites. I cut a J4 for a 3rd rally and it's nice to see it more, but my winrate is lower. I think the winrate can be explained by people knowing the deck more now, and the meta shifting to deal with it. Ranger's Resolve might be needed going forward with all the Azir Irelia🧵

Fun run, fast decks with very little decisions so my rounds were done quickly. If I ran the tournament again, I may have just planned to either ban Matron or play a lineup better into midrange. Maybe with Draven/Rumble. Should have figured people would punish all the aggro 🧵.

The plan with the lineup was to play into Matron, try to be slightly bigger than other aggro lists, and pressure out the slower combo decks that were banning Matron. I was banning decks like Mordekaiser, and midrange that can hit the board quickly like other Elites and Galio 🧵.

Bubbled 9th in the @AegisEsportsLoR Eternal Open. Lineup was cool, the idea was to not have to ban the Matron deck. That plan was kinda working out, but ran into some midrange at the end of the bracket that put me on the bubble. 4 worlds points. Ideas and Deck Codes Below 🧵

Variance is where the biggest skill expression is showed in TCGs. It's not chess, reducing the variance of an opponent's potential cards limits game state possibilities, and so there's less things to consider/play around. Open decklists "feels" more skillful because it's easier.
