Last week, we were fortunate to have @LeighChappy join us to talk about her experiences in Harm Reduction. We were reminded that as nurses, we need to raise the alarm and protect those who continue to be affected by the Government's response to the overdose crisis.

ANCHR is committed to acknowledging and challenging systems of oppression in our work. This includes recognizing the ongoing war crimes committed against the Palestinian people and ask the Canadian government to do the same. @JustinTrudeau @melaniejoly

Alberta lost its prescriber based model of safe supply. We witnessed the loss of this safety and the harms it caused. We are deeply alarmed by these actions against the community in Vancouver. 4/ https://t.co/LyHBmmkVT0

We believe that everyone deserves safety. On October 25th, people who access community-regulated safe supply through @DULFBC lost that safety. Safety to know what Safety to know how much Safety to know where Safety to know when Safety to know who 3/

Community-regulated safe supply is more likely to reach people that are unable to access prescribed safer supply due healthcare-related trauma, inflexible rules, or because there is no appropriate prescribed replacement. 2/

ANCHR condemns the criminalization of community-regulated safe drug supply distribution. We recognize the immense harm the loss @DULFBC’s safe and regulated supply will have on community members after this violent raid. 1/

These are nurses who watched people lose access to prescribed safer supply due to political interference. “We are witnessing a decline in patient health status, personal goals, and hope for the future as people”
