I’m so pleased to share some book news at long last. It will be out in 2025 with Oxford Uni Press (Past & Present Series). I’m still pinching myself! Grateful to so many colleagues (you know who you are), the wonderful, anonymous peer reviewers, & the @AustHistAssoc for support.
Delighted and humbled to receive the Serle award for my PhD thesis amongst such wonderful peers! The book is in the making! ✍️ Thank you too @historyANU

Education Minister Jason Clare could get involved to return the ANU to this mission and create a model of university governance for the rest of the university sector 👏
After months of pressure, Australian National University vice-chancellor Genevieve Bell has resigned. This creates a unique opportunity for the federal government. @DrBenjaminJones @CQU

Disastrous for ANU, and for the distinct national role and impact of its School of History. Frank Bongiorno is part of a tradition that forms what it is and means to be a public-facing Historian right around the country. Frank built and formed that elusive thing we call culture.

Mervyn Street's parents were never paid for their work, instead they received rocks which they could exchange for rations He also worked as a stockman and didn't get wages until his 30s. His work & struggle are brought together in Stolen Wages exhibition https://t.co/lbdkxsliuf

So thrilled to have had this indexed by such a history 🌟 thanks too, @IntlAusStudies for supporting this 🙌
I've just finished indexing @AMcLarenHistory's completely fascinating 'Aboriginal-Colonial Exchanges in New South Wales, 1800-1835' - highly recommended! #indexing

Last night was such fun, and a reminder that Australians will turn en masse, and pay a good whack, to hear from engaging, erudite historians with something to say

It was great to present research on the surprising baptism of swathes of Aboriginal children by Catholics in early NSW @SLU_Official. A big shout out to my wonderful colleague @ShaunLBlanchard for the invitation and for such a well organised conference

Fab conference on something that seemed unlikely, but is now understandable thanks to the work of excellent scholars - a religious and even Catholic (&Irish!) Enlightenment
