AAWR news: AAWR supports DR/IR/RO residents in good standing to take 12 wks of family/medical leave (+4 weeks’ vacation/year), take Exams on time, and graduate w/o extension of training (w/ additional leave to be considered by PD on a case by case basis).

Can’t believe my maternity leave is coming to an end. Very grateful for progressive policies @UMichCTSurgery @UMichSurgery that enabled me to take 12 (TWELVE!) weeks of paid leave. Going to miss baby so much, but excited to become a BA surgeon mom she’ll look up to. 💪🏼🫀🫁🤱🏼🔪
