Every time an airline pilot flies we depend on having at least two pilots on the flight deck at all times. Anything less is a gamble with safety.

As I’m flying this week, I keep thinking about how aviation safety is a team sport. I’m grateful for the federal workers who are here today to keep us safe through the holidays, and I’m thankful that they continued to show up and get the job done during the government shutdown.

"The inclusion of Section 373 in the National Defense Authorization Act is wholly inadequate and a disservice to the memory of those lost in the tragic collision of the Army helicopter with PSA flight 5342 on January 29," said @ALPAPresident. Read more➡️ https://t.co/0DI1nhT0dl

The unity of the @TSCPilotes was on display throughout the negotiation process, and it paid off with their TA. Well done to the Air Transat pilots and leaders for their resolve and thank you to all the pilots from other airlines who stepped up to support our fellow @ALPAPilots.

I joined @ALPACanada for their third annual Parliament Hill lobby day. Effective partnership between those who do the work and those who regulate it is critical to maintaining a safe and successful airline industry.

Pilots across ALPA stand with @TSCPilotes, who’ve spoken loud and clear—they’re united, determined, and ready to go the distance for a modern contract. It’s time for @airtransat management to recognize their value and meet today’s industry standards.
Les pilotes d'Air Transat ont voté à une écrasante majorité en faveur d'une grève si la direction ne leur propose pas un contrat moderne. Air Transat pilots have voted overwhelmingly in favor of going on strike if management fails to deliver a modern contract.

This is now the longest government shutdown in our nation’s history. Thousands of federal aviation professionals are still working without pay to keep our skies safe. They deserve better. Safety isn’t partisan—it’s essential. Congress must come together and #EndTheShutdown.

As the @NTSB investigation begins, I urge patience. In aviation, we don’t jump to conclusions; we practice due diligence and learn from tragedy. We strive to honor the legacy of lives lost in airline accidents by improving our system and strengthening safety.
