Made it back to Nairobi, will post some more photos over the coming days. Here we have the type locality of Chiloglanis kerioensis just below Cheploch Gorge. And the unofficial last site for our IRES. A really magical river flowing from hills and into Lake Bogoria.

Drove to a beach landing about two hours from Migori this morning. Looking for some interesting barb (Enteromius) species that we found in the bycatch of the omena near the mouths of the Nzoia further north. Ladies said they only see those in April. Interesting drive at least!

Sampled Riana River today after a 14 year hiatus. Last sampled in 2011 with the original IRES crew. Thankfully, things are still in decent shape. Dreamed of this river over the years because of the Chiloglanis and Zaireichthys collected. Today added some Gnathonemus sp.

Sampling rivers and streams around Homa Bay today. Pretty affected by irrigation streams and other things, but collected a decent diversity of fishes.

When you are in Homa Bay, you need to eat like it (swapped out the ugali for roasted potatoes). Dry fry tilapia with the soup on the side.

Taking tissues from specimens with a lot of interest from the local community. Great opportunity to talk about what we are doing and why these fishes and macroinvertebrates are important.
