This deportation sets a dangerous precedent. Eswatini is not a dumping ground for powerful states' unwanted individuals, and every person’s human rights must be respected. @womensassembly have also raised the potential impact on women and high rates of GBV.

Huge protests in Angola after a 33% rise in diesel prices, also driving up the cost of food. Angola is the country with the highest debt payments - a colonial legacy - and spending on public services has fallen by 55% since 2015. Most Angolans report worsening living conditions.

Lesotho declares a state of disaster after Trump's 50% tariffs gut its garment industry. All in all, 40,000 people will lose their job - in a country with almost 50% youth unemployment already. The global power assymetries that allow this must be redressed.

Disappointing to see that women's health in Africa and water sanitation (which also affects women and girls more) will face the biggest UK aid cuts. Women and girls are already poorer and lack access to education, health, transport, opportunities and more.
