A great honour to be made a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre at a beautiful ceremony yesterday at @StGeorgesCath led by Archbishop John Wilson. The need to stand in solidarity with those suffering in the Holy Land - not least the Christians - could not be more timely.

The massacre of up to 200 people by militants shouting ‘Allahu Akhbar’ in Benue State, Nigeria is the single worst attack on Christians in the region. See my interview with parish priest Fr Jonathan. It is the clearest sign yet of genocide in the making.

On the day the world pays its last respects to @Pontifex and he is laid to rest, I recall my meeting with him in Rome where I experienced for myself his warmth, his faith and his compassion for all those who suffer, including persecuted Christians. May he rest in peace.

A huge thank you to @EdwardLeighGB for mentioning @acn_uk #RedWednesday at today’s PMQs. It is vital to move quickly to appoint a PM FoRB special envoy who stands up for religious freedom or belief.
Today is Red Wednesday when we remember persecuted Christians and others who suffer for their beliefs. @ACN_uk's recent report shows that persecution is increasing. The PM should re-appoint a Special Envoy for FoRB so we in the UK do our bit to defend the persecuted worldwide.

#Persecution of Christians is growing but little is said in our media and little is done by our Gov't. Read my guest editorial in today's @CatholicUnionGB Weekly Briefing. On #RedWednesday (20 Nov) let's break the silence & stand up for faith and freedom

#RedWednesday 2023 was highlighted by the Prime Minister at PMQs. Please support #RedWednesday again this year on 20th November.
At PMQs on #RedWednesday, UK PM @RishiSunak endorsed the initiative raising awareness of #ChristianPersecution after Fiona Bruce MP @UK_FoRBEnvoy told the story of Margaret Attah, the survivor of a jihadist attack on a church in Nigeria.

The #persecution of Christians is getting worse. In my podcast with @acn_uk's Dr John Newton, we discuss why this is happening and call on people to 'Break the Silence' of indifference within Gov't and other influential sections of society.
