But we can end China’s domination by tapping the resources we have here at home. The Thacker Pass project in Nevada is home to the largest known measured lithium resource in the world.

Here’s the problem: Less than 1% of global lithium comes from American sources. Meanwhile, China has worked aggressively to dominate the mining, refining, and battery supply chain. That’s a serious threat to our national security.

Lithium powers batteries that store clean energy. It fuels the devices that keep our economy connected. It supports national defense—from drones to missile tech.

At the core of America’s strength is independence. From food to energy to defense, our security has always relied on controlling our own destiny. There’s one resource that all of these depend on that we can’t afford to overlook: lithium.
