Statistically non significant results often have THE MOST theoretical significance! This implicit bias means humanity has lost decades of knowledge because researchers are artificially bound to the p>.05 standard. https://t.co/9KW9S8zwJ6 @OpenAcademics @PhDVoice

@jenheemstra Academic bullying hurts researchers and is counterproductive to human advancement! But academic bullying is also a biproduct of publish or perish. There is currently no incentive for faculty to address bullying by the ppl who will decide their tenure. #SilenceIsComplicity

When referencing a paper, what is classified as ‘recent’ in your opinion? One year? Five years? (This is a field with a long history) @OpenAcademics @PhDVoice #AcademicChatter

@hannahtiernan1 @OpenAcademics @PhDVoice We think the idea of “recent references” is a flawed concept. Is a paper that is published in 2021, but used data from the year 2011 recent? The paper is based on decade old data, yet most would call it “new research” Relevant > recent is our motto

Relevant > Recent HOT RESEARCH TAKE: I don’t trust researchers, editors, professors, or scientists who insist on “recent articles” over relevant articles.

Homelessness is an educational confound. It impacts standardized test scores, school performance, attendance, and graduation rates.

Remember the talking point: infections will fade over the summer because “COVID can’t spread in when its sunny outside” COVID-19 is a virus....not a vampire! We need these people using masks and vaccines but they keep buying wooden stakes and talking about personal liberty!!

Ever notice that ppl who say college is a scam—always go to the college educated doctor when they are sick 🤒 College IS NOT A SCAM! But the way we pay for college in the USA is a 40 year libertarian economic grift! https://t.co/aAZW14ll2f

I have realised that when it comes to dissertation supervision there are three types of students. 1) dissappears for months and then reappears with a "complete" proposal or thesis. 2) consults at every phase and interacts often. 3) Fall off the face of the earth. Which 1 are u?
