Riot has the best onboarding hands down. I want to scream on a roof about how important quality onboarding is for the success of not only employees but the employer. It’s good for everyone and I’m so happy I can take my time absorbing a bunch of new information. ❤️

Funny how two years ago he talked about no tolerance for abuse and wanting an inclusive industry yet has made no comment about the thousands of game dev layoffs this year amid massive profits.
I also realize we have a big platform which can accelerate and inspire change. We are committed to that, but we all need to work together to build a better and a more inclusive environment so everyone feels safe to build the world’s best games.

I was a chemical engineer in the cannabis industry before…skills are transferrable, if you want it bad enough you can do whatever you want.

Tbh TGA in person was a miserable experience. People were up and down the entire show because of seat fillers. I had to stand up at least 10 times DURING CUTSCENES just to let people in and out.
Way better to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.

Had a talk this week to university students about my journey to games and how they could do it too and then to wake up and see more layoffs happening…it’s really scary. I worry about losing my job all the time. It shouldn’t be like this.

It’s very hard in a leadership position to see the lack of QA training we have in this industry. Things I consider bare minimum requirements are often missed due to lack of foundations and game knowledge. Also, building trust is hard with so much occupational trauma in QA. 🥺

Women constantly undermine themselves with the language they use. Many studies have shown over 50% of women “soften” communication to avoid seeming to harsh when they are just being direct. Research also shows a tendency to ‘soften’ increases as women progress in their careers.
