FROSTY START Frost Advisories and Freeze Warnings have been issued for a large part of the area. The best chance of widespread frost is in our northwest suburbs with some patchy frost possible in the Pine Barrens. Protect any sensitive plants if you live in these areas.

COASTAL STORM We are watching Sunday/Monday as a potent storm could be lurking just offshore. The biggest concern would be a strong prolonged onshore wind that would lead to significant beach erosion and coastal flooding. Stay tuned for exact details.

MORE RAIN NEEDED This morning's 1/4" to 1/2" of rain was just a drop in the bucket compared to what we need. Rainfall deficits since early June are around 5 to 8 inches for many locations. A coastal storm this weekend could help us make up some ground.

@6abcadamjoseph They were cold before that. The last two weeks they weren’t playing well at all. They peaked too early in September.

FULL HARVEST MOON The moon will be rising in the east near sunset---just after 6:30pm. With it being in its closest orbit to earth it will be a supermoon appearing brighter and larger than a typical full moon. Great night to check it out!

80S RETURN As high pressure moves east so will all of this warmth in the Plains and Great Lakes. We have 4 straight days of temperatures at 10 degrees or more above average before a cold front moves in to knock things back down.
