Even Nick Scott and Patrick Jones were starters on playoff teams. Why do they become trash when they become Panthers? Whose fault is that?.
Jaycee.DB.Turk.Wonnum.Bobby Brown.Moehrig .Mike Jack.Ashawn. These guys are starting on a lot of playoff teams.

Rivera was a 6’3 240 pound linebacker. If Canales tried to coach this way it wouldn’t be authentic. Lol. Dave needs to do what works best for him.

Rozeboom was a starter on the Rams last year. Mike Jackson was a starter in the Seahawks 2 years ago.
@4ourmanrush none of our lb’s or any cb not named horn would be starting on a good nfl team.

How many stars does a defense need to be serviceable? You got cornerstones with Jaycee and Derrick Brown. Guys like Wonnum, Rosebloom, Patrick Jones, Turk Wharton who played key roles on winning teams. You got teams like KC that start day 3 picks and play good ball.
More because Dan Quinn maximized the talent he had on defense. He took two dudes Evero couldn’t optimize/utilize (Luvu and Chinn) and even made one a superstar (Luvu).

I’m all for Tepper slander but he’s done everything he can to make this 2025 team successful. He’s given Bryce an offensive minded coach, the most expensive OL in the NFL, 2 1000 yard RBs, back to back 1st rounders at WR + depth. If 9 can’t put up numbers with this then idk man.

Buffalo, Baltimore and KC all have generational talents at QB. What about teams that don’t?. Philly built through both the draft and getting guys like Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, Darius Slay, etc. That’s why I don’t like the idea of dismissing trades for guys like Hendrickson.
@4ourmanrush Sustainable success. Bills, Ravens come to mind. They have the qb and a few other pieces in place, and don’t go crazy elsewhere and always contend. Haven’t got the title over KC yet, but you know they’ll always be in the hunt.

What is “long term” in football? Contracts are typically 1-3 years and teams rarely hold on to all the guys they draft after their rookie deals expire. You have 3-4 year windows that continually reset with losses to free agency, injury and retirement.
Mike Kaye made a great point on the Ari Meirov show; Carolina doesn’t want to randomly appear in a WC game, lose, and fall off again. “They want to contend long term.”. A trade for Trey goes against their philosophical principles. Unless we get a massive bargain, this wont happen.
