i'm so shou focused 😭 everytime i pick a new novel i already hate the gong by default, until i warm up to him

huge chunks of the novel are still unreadable (the "greedy woman bitch ex-wife" type of character to be misogynist against, many hy chapters etc) however

i really love him, specially his backstory developments. i dont exactly like how mental illness is framed in the narrative (something that can be surpassed with sheer willpower if you are enough of a strong person) but thats fine

finished bab vol. 4, finally enjoying it a bit more. everything to do with xqc finally becoming a person in the narrative and not just rapebait

this is one of the reasons i forever dislike the interpretations that have the flower as some sort of mind control device...how can you love mr/txj and stripe him of all complexity, going against the themes of the novel in name of an easier, more palatable version of himself!!
