Jealous of writers who can write in beautiful surroundings - cabins deep in the wood, by a lake, near the sea - because the ONLY way I can write productively is if I'm somewhere super boring or mundane and I don't care so I don't get distracted.

When lit mags fold so many people wring their hands and opine about the death of culture, etc. But honestly, if people don't read lit mags, subscribe to them, share work in them, ask libraries, bookstores and MFA programs to purchase subscriptions...what is the expected outcome?
