one of the best things that ever happened to me on here was to have jack prosper block me. it made me think, “what’s the point of tracking engagement so closely you miss the bigger picture?”. the point of x dot com (for me) is to make friends and express myself.

@shurensha you might like the art of learning by josh waitzkin. he has an idea of working on the micro until it happens automatically, free you to be more creative at the macro. I should take my own advice and re-read.

to anyone struggling with recursion (dude… wow) this book is worth checking out. thinking about it through a functional lense via pattern matching with a head and a tail was insanely helpful.
i love hearing about people who you consider to be great coders who struggled to learn coding . i still consider recursion to be the hardest thing i have ever learned.

i'm open-sourcing a tool today that i've been using recently to help me create .gitignore files: the git-ignore-updater!. it can be easily extended to support different programming languages and environments, but currently it has explicit support for python. PRs are welcome!

@xprunie i got started by re-designing every popular app in a sketch book and in figma, then went on to design and ship my own apps.
