@hyprturing I might be missing something here but this almost reads like some reverse psychology thing to me— my reaction is “nah fuck you it’s not hopeless I’m gonna git gud and figure this shit out” 💀.

@coalakowski I believe the self is infinitely moldable and mutable and don’t buy into psychological labels like introvert/extrovert, meyers Briggs types, anything like that tbh.

@severeengineer True but doing something that you want to do a lot just a little bit is much harder than not doing it at all, at least for me.

@Voltorik_ This would be good. Or even just a project based program, even if it isn’t specifically business oriented, would be a huge step up from most undergrad cs programs. Like, “welcome to semester 3, start making a game!” or “for junior year you’ll be designing & making an interpreter”.

@var_epsilon Lock them in a room with an airgapped computer and 2 textbooks of their choosing and they have 1 hour to solve two sum, make a tcp chat server, and spin up a basic website or else they don’t graduate.

@wmf That’s true but the majority of cs undergrads are there for “I want to learn to code” not “I want to learn about the academic field of computer science”.
