Happy Pride Month to the LGBTQIA+ community in Vermont and across the country. While the federal administration continues attacks on folks trying to be themselves, it’s important for us to be strong allys and celebrate everyone everywhere.

I have always had a lot of respect for Ben Cohen. And here is an example of why. He is standing up for kids being killed with our tax dollars. He states it so clearly. How can people of good conscience not see the evil in starving civilians. @YoBenCohen.

I told Congress they're killing poor kids in Gaza by buying bombs, and they're paying for it by kicking poor kids off Medicaid in the US. This was the authorities' response.

Vermont stands with workers. From those on strike to those organizing for the first time, this is a moment of momentum and hope. The fight for justice, dignity, and economic democracy continues—and today, it grows stronger.

On this historic May Day, the Vermont House of Representatives has taken a powerful step for working people—voting 125-15 to advance Proposal 3, a constitutional amendment that would enshrine the right to organize and collectively bargain. This vote sends a clear message:.

The Pope also understood that we are integrally connected to our planet and that we must take steps to decrease our impact on this sphere we call earth.

“It’s hypocrisy to call yourself a Christian and chase away a refugee or someone seeking help, someone who is hungry or thirsty, toss out someone who is in need of help… If I say I am Christian, but do these things, I’m a hypocrite.”.

I am also saddened for all of us. While the position he held, like any leader, has its constraints, he led with a kindness towards strangers and an open heart. The following represent some of his passages that stand out for me.

Few people are in positions of power where so much good or so much harm can occur to their words and deeds. I first want to express my condolences to his family. And in that I include his extended biological family as well as the family of his faith.

As I listened to the news this morning I, like many, was struck by the news of the passing of the Pope. While I am not religious, I am still moved by the transition that this represents and the scale of the impact that he has had and will have on our world.

I often explain that when you go to get cereal, a beverage or ice cream, there are dozens of options, but when it comes to politics, our current voting system typically reduces our choice to just two.

The Rotary discussion was non-partisan and focussed on explaining how it works, what it accomplishes, its drawbacks, and why it doesn't benefit any one party over another. What it does is allow for more choices while resulting in a majority winner.

Yesterday I had the privilege of speaking with the Windsor Vermont Rotary Club about Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV.) After, I went over to the Butcher and Pantry in West Windsor/Brownsville and had a great lunch. The Butcher and Pantry is a great example of a thriving community store.

Democrats in Congress and at the state level can set the record straight right now by fighting for working people while most Republicans will remain silent or support these draconian actions by President Trump.
