thank you @exitthelemming for shining a light on mum's story. she transcended an incredibly difficult start in life, as did her mother Laureen. I like to think of them both as alchemists of sorts. .
Cleo’s mum Laureen Goodare was born in Yorkshire in 1911, an illegitimate biracial child brought up in a children’s home. Laureen told Cleo the truth about her childhood just before she died. And “there was more to her life than I had ever imagined”
