You can add @helium free plan as a second SIM, and your phone will automatically connect to Helium Wi-Fi hotspots—while still using your main carrier. No need to switch carriers.

Today carrier Wi-Fi relies on blind offload and hope, which has failed for 20 years. The shift to controlled offload using real-time UX metrics is key to finally make it work for carriers and subscribers.

Meanwhile MVNOs that embraced wireless convergence ship vast majority of cell phone data through Wi-Fi and are winning subscribers away from MNOs.
$10.8B spent on building cell towers and another $52.7B on operation in 2024. Maybe there's a better way with @helium. 🤔

Learning that many Helium Mobile mappers earn tokens without ever connecting to a cell tower. Likely phone farms or gamers, not real users. Should we require some actual cellular usage to qualify for token rewards?.

Traffic returning to normal, as expected.
This bug is now fixed 🤞, but since carriers couldn't connect for days, their software temporarily reduced traffic to our network. As it relearns our reliability, we expect traffic to return to normal soon.
