I hope this makes sense. Don't try justify a non Islamic ideology just to fit your desires. And don't try and disprove/disagree with an Islamic law just because it doesn't fit in with modern society. Doing so opens the door for shaytaan to make you become a kafir

Islam is Islam, we either take it fully, we learn from this to be firm in our faith, ideologies and principles as Muslims, even if they sound barbaric and backwards to kuffar. We don't succumb and abandon some of our rulings just to appease them
