Today we extended our subtraction word problem lesson. Students were paired up and had to create their own subtraction word problems and explain how they got their answer. They then presented to the class #firstgrade #math

Our class is loving our “super secret model student” reward. In the a.m we pull a secret name (and hide it all day). If that secret student is a model student all day, they get to earn a mustache for the day! #classroommanagement #funinfirstgrade #mustache

Our class has really been struggling with circling 2 groups and creating a # bond. Today we chose some friends and wrapped them up in groups, making sure every person was in a group. Then we created a number bond. Our class had so much fun and had many laughs! #1stgrade #math

Day 7 and Mr. Potato Head is already full! Every time we work together as a class, follow directions, or get a class compliment from an adult we add a piece! When he’s full, we celebrate with a “potato” chip party. Now the fun part begins… Tomorrow he starts over! #1stgrade
