At last night’s Scrutiny everyone acknowledged Blue Badge Holders will be discriminated against, acknowledged many will be excluded from accessing the city centre, acknowledged more could be done to prevent this... yet still chose to press on with a permanent change. It’s wrong.

Believe disabled people when we tell you about our lives, our pain and energy. It's great that some people can use a park and ride, or walk into town, or cycle BUT as we have repeatedly said, not everyone can. A Blue Badge is given to level the playing field.

York Council is to consider a permanent ban on blue badge holders accessing pedestrianised areas.
It's painful to have our needs repeatedly dismissed, it's distressing to be gaslighted over and over again by councillors.
