BL is niche, it's more popular than ever but it still is niche. Like a big fish in the ocean. No JPN studio is going to make the 'Chainsaw Man' of BL, the risk is too high bc the money isn't there for it. SK's Mignon currently is the best we're going to get. (God Bless It)
People forget BL is Queer & considered women's media. You're taking a field dominated by men where even the most mediocre gag stories aimed towards tween boys (like YAIBA) are given gold star film standards and think somehow queer, women's media just needs to be more respectable?
