Also, Shane has a really hard time understanding social cues (I’m assuming because of his autism) In the show, he still hasn’t realized that every time he brings up Russia (or Ilya’s family), Ilya’s mood sours or he just becomes reluctant to talk about it. It’s already happened
like best example i can think of is how we see ilya's internal monologue so we understand why he acts the way that he does, but shane literally only knows what ilya tells him so he acts using that information which is often not the right move because he doesn't know everything
