Whoever shot this propaganda reel hasn’t been to Ukraine in a while. Dash cameras have been outlawed in Ukraine since the Russian invasion 13 months ago, and the first thing that would happen at any checkpoint would be a removal of the camera and a possible fine.
What is interesting is how Russia manufactures such propaganda to portray Ukraine as anti-Muslim even as it oppresses the Tatar minority in occupied Crimea. Ukraine has several Muslim MPs, Muslim deputy prime minister and thousands of Muslim soldiers. Here is one. Note the patch.

Because Ukraine is afraid, with good reason, that any footage of checkpoints and military traffic could be used by Russia for targeting.
@yarotrof
You have recently been to Ukraine, but have not been on the Internet for a long time. There are a lot of videos on the Internet from car registrars of Ukrainians. Pro-Ukrainian media often rely on them. Too bad you're from the WSJ.

Nonsense like this is meant to distract from the fact that Russia's Bakhmut campaign has lasted nearly 8 full months and it still has not taken the city: this is symbolic of Russia's miserable performance in its losing war of aggression, as I note here
@yarotrof
The woman and kid actually sound authentic. The soldier doesn’t. The marker on the back of the “Ukrainian” SUV also doesn’t look right.
Did Russia stage this by dressing up a couple of DNR guys and scaring a real mother and child somewhere in occupied territory?

As if the Ukrainian army drives around in a Volkswagen with a Balkenkreuz, which doesn’t even exactly match a historic Balkenkreuz.
