Storm should’ve nominated her for the quiet council.
The drama of Callisto’s battle in the Crucible, and the way it both references the old and establishes a new dynamic with Storm built on their iconic first battle makes me feel like she really thrived on the island despite only really having this issue of Marauders focused on her

When she believed herself to be depowered she could’ve chosen to live life as a normal human but instead she chose to live publicly as a mutant. That’s one of the reasons why Storm is my personal favorite leader of the X-men.

Disappointing but not surprised. She didn’t have someone in a position of power to advocate for her when she needed it the most (the 1980’s), making her time in the spotlight short lived.
There have been 5 Captain Marvels in Marvel Comics. Of those 5, Monica is the only one to not have an on-going series, even at the height of her notoriety in the 80s as a member of the Avengers. Make that make sense.
