I am on scene of the incident on I-5 and Olive way. A vehicle drove through the closure and struck multiple pedestrians on the freeway. Two people were transported to Harborview. One with life threatening injuries and one with serious injuries.

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart to share that Trooper Renee Padgett passed away this morning at the age of 50 with 27 years with the WSP. Renee fought a tough battle with cancer for 6 and a half years. She spent her whole career in King County.

Troopers pursued and caught a fleeing vehicle after attempting to stop it for speed on I-5 in Kent this morning. Suspect was arrested on multiple charges. Afterwards troopers located this puppy inside of the vehicle, unharmed, and are taking care of it until it’s release.

This is the section of SR 410 between Mud Mountain Rd and Crystal. This vehicle was traveling 65mph in a 55mph zone even in the snowy conditions. Another was given a Neg Driving ticket for passing a snow plow near a curve! Slow down and respect the plows!
