I don’t understand, if Burnley have a goal disallowed cor handball, why don’t Leeds get a penalty for handball? The ball definitely hit Nunes on the arm, it didn’t definitely hit Barnes on the arm

Those VAR decisions for Burnley today 🤯. The offside isn’t in the spirit of the game, but we know the rules, so offside is offside. But that handball? How can they say it’s definitive?? If the ref doesn’t give it, you can’t tell me the images prove a clear and obvious error

And the referee was nowhere near as bad as the Premier League refs 🤣 Admittedly the lino on our side was useless - so preoccupied with watching the line he missed loads of stuff happening in front of him. And best of all, no VAR holding the game up!

Arrived 35 mins before kick off, no trouble parking, 5 minute stroll to the ground, no queue to get in. Good back and forth between home and away fans (Pompey fans supported their team throughout) and three points on the board for Wrexham. Good night all round.

Went to @Wrexham_AFC last night, was nice to get out of the Premier League bubble. I’m used to getting to Anfield two hours before the game to make sure I can park, massive queues for everything and sprinting back to the car to get through the tunnel before the traffic gets crazy

What a bloody relief that is. Glad Mac Allister got it second time around!

At least the manager is giving Rio and Chiesa a chance today, they cannot do any worse than the players they’re replacing

If this finishes a draw and the manager goes on about being unbeaten I will be very unhappy.

I’m all for letting people get a mental break, but when you’ve been as poor as Liverpool have this season, you can’t come back from getting a couple of days off and play like this. Not like there wasn’t stuff to work on is it?

43 minutes in and not a single touch in the opposition box

Two things I have said before that remain my opinion following Manchester City vs Newcastle. 1) I wish we’d signed Anthony Gordon 2) Ruben Dias is not fit to lace Virgil Van Dijk’s boots

In terms of outright joy, the league cup win in 2024 is up there with pretty much anything else I’ve experienced in my 35+ years of following Liverpool Football Club. It was a special moment. An incredible achievement led by the big fella of course, but supported by a young cast

He made them feel valued. He made them feel they had a part to play. Look at Origi’s career since he left LFC. The man that brought us so many memories and Klopp described as “the best finisher at the club”. You need lads like that, can’t have a squad of 20 worldies.

Arne Slot is not Jurgen Klopp, and he shouldn’t try to be. But reading the report in The Athletic about Divock Origi brings to focus an area where he should try to be more like Klopp. The performances that Klopp could get from his fringe players were incredible. He built them up.
