@writing_bakers I'd create a piece of bread that is also somehow a metaphor for a scone (that nobody understands until draft 7)

@writing_bakers Tom Stoppard creates a scone that somehow also explains the history of the scone

@Abi_Zakarian bakes a delicious Armenian nutmeg cake which everyone agrees they'd never heard of before but now they absolutely recognise it as the best cake ever. #playwrightbakeoff

@writing_bakers Martin Crimp blindfolds the Baker, and makes them mix the ingredients, unmeasured, by feel alone #playwrightbakeoff

Alice Birch only makes German bakes now. They’re delicious but somehow depressing. Katie Mitchell gatecrashes the tent, before revealing that the tent is actually Lady Macbeth. The cake is despair. Nothing is real. You’re very scared. #playwrightbakeoff

David Hare buys a box of Family Circle, simply rearranges the biscuits in a different order; submits it as an original work. He still comes second. #playwrightbakeoff

Tom Wells (@womtells) and Alan Bennett go head to head in the biscuit round, forget they’re supposed to be competing, end up going on a day trip to Whitby Abbey together. #playwrightbakeoff

In anticipation of the Bake Off final tonight, does anyone want to play Fantasy Playwright Bake Off? How do you think playwrights would fare if they competed in the tent? Playwrights how do you think you’d do? #playwrightbakeoff

I'm going to be launching my Baking and Theatre blog, The Proofing Stage, in October. I still need to make a logo, but I'm currently writing my first article/essay. Here's some sneaky clues about what I'm writing about:

So I'm going to start a Food and Theatre blog from the start of September. It's mostly going to be creative-critical essays (and reviews) on baking, culture and theatre. Don't have a name for it yet, but I just wanted to announce that I'm currently working on it!

So, just throwing out ideas here... If I started a blog (or something very similar) about Theatre and Baking, who would be interested? Is that something people would want to read? (Not Theatre and Baking combined, lol. Unless...?) Does anyone have any advice on getting started?
