But do we stay in that comfort or break out of it? You have to look at your past journey and see. If you want to see Paul's journey, read the past six chapters of Equilibrium and see what led Paul to spiral down. https://t.co/HjQxp8Gxpi #sciencefiction #philopshy

We choose our paths in life before us. There's a left and a right, an up or down. When those triggers set off in our minds, we choose comfort or discomfort. In Paul's case, he chose comfort. How could he not? 9/10

We can return to old habits due to a plethora of triggers -- primarily due to neurological networks synced up to the past. When our realities change, what stops us from keeping those habits? 8/10

My argument is that our consciousness stays the same due to its intangible nature, but we return to an earlier part of our lives. Drinks appear, but Paul is still three years sober in his mind. Yet, he falls off the wagon. Did he really fall off? 7/10

The title is based on the fact that the world needs to stay stable, so one thing leaves and another appears. This affects everything: furniture, pictures, and memories. If someone loses the current moment, do they return to where they started? 6/10

When realities collide, theories differ. Some say we gain and lose energy whether it's 3D or 2D. Some say time changes due to the effects of this new energy. In Paul's world, his wife and child disappear, and something alien appears. 5/10

A six-pack of beer appears before him in his office. He didn't put it there, but there the alcohol lingers. At the end of the chapter, Paul asks himself: Did I fall off the wagon? 4/10

Paul Arken, a retired police officer with three years of sobriety, is thrust into the unknown after his dimension smashes into another. As he discovers the differences in his new reality, he sees old habits return. 3/10

This is all theoretical, set in a fictitious world, but I think some philosophical questions should be asked. Would we lose something tangible? Could we lose a part of ourselves? Let's take a look at my main character's dilemma. 2/10

What happens when different dimensions blend? I'm not a mathematician or physicist, but I've been exploring this idea in my new book -- Equilibrium. What would we lose? What would we gain? Let's dive into it THREAD 1/10
