Update: A big thanks to Steve from @startrescuecouk for looking into this and apologising for the way it was handled. I also had a bit of a chuckle at this part about offering compensation. Iāve banished the locking wheel nuts forever but the Ā£50 can go towards the wheel refurb!
My positive experience with @startrescuecouk with this has been soured with them now telling me I technically wasnāt covered because I ādidnāt have a locking wheel nut key availableā, and I should have been charged for the recovery. The key snapped, what more could I do?!.

My last day in the Lakes and I thought Iād give Hardknott Pass a go. Never done it before, and I thought itād be a good test for the A4. The good news is, the A4 nailed it and was like a mountain goat. The bad news is, I didnāt see a pothole on the way down and made a BIG booboo.

Iām not sure which entity Iāve angered in these last two weeks, but the Caddy I borrowed from work to replace my three-wheeled A4 has now decided it no longer wants its engine oil. Oh, and I stepped in dog shit right after this too (thankfully didnāt lay in it - I donāt think)
Sadly their taxi back from Manchester isnāt quite as glamorous (A4 is still awaiting a new wheel so work very kindly let me borrow this)

Slight miscommunications aside the service from @startrescuecouk was fantastic, contractors were dispatched immediately and I was kept up to date with how long theyād be, and when I was dropped at Lancaster services the next truck pulled in behind before weād even unloaded.

With zero phone signal and still half a mountain to descend, I decided to limp very slowly with my very sad and deflated wheel, until I found a main road with a layby so I could call @startrescuecouk. The rim and tyre were already knackered by this point so I had little to lose.
