While a lot of focus is on Villa Park tonight, we're still here for you as usual, and we're keeping people safe across the West Midlands. So far today we've dealt with more than 1,800 emergency calls. 95% of our 999 calls this year have been answered within two seconds.

We're being supported by colleagues from 25 other forces tonight. This is to help us keep not only football supporters and the local community safe around #Birmingham, but to make sure everyone across the West Midlands gets the usual high level of service from us.

We continue to have a large police presence outside Villa Park today as we work to keep everyone in attendance safe.

We've arrested six people tonight: 🔴 A man, 21, for failing to comply with an order to remove a face mask 🔴 A boy, 17, for failing to comply with a dispersal order 🔴 Three people arrested for racially aggravated public order offences 🔴 One person for a breach of the peace

We have been working closely with partners including Birmingham City Council, Aston Villa Football Club and others. You'll see a large number of uniformed officers, as well as police horses, police dogs, our drone unit, our roads policing unit, protest liaison officers and more.

We remain committed to maintaining the city’s reputation as a safe and welcoming place for everyone. Anyone who breaks the law will be dealt with directly, as will those who incite hate.

We're used to policing high-profile football fixtures, and our focus remains on public safety and ensuring supporters enjoy the game. We know protests by different groups are planned, and we'll balance the rights of demonstrators with those of people going about their business.
