Report cards follow state law and use multiple data sources over multiple years — test scores are just one part of them. The *facts* (not misinformation) show that districts have fallen into the 1-star category once since 2016-17, largely due to this variable weighting.
Remarkable! The single largest shift in distribution for low-performing districts came from variable weighting, which was signed into law by.... @ScottWalker! Sensationalizing this topic for clicks does nothing to improve learning outcomes.

Remarkable! The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction dramatically alters how school district performance is graded and suddenly not a single district in the state receives the lowest grade! The Institute for @ReformingGovt's table perfectly illustrates the scam:

Wisconsin has a longstanding tradition of leadership in mathematics education. While we share the goal of improving math achievement, creating new state mandates isn’t the answer. Lawmakers should study what’s working now and replicate successful strategies across districts.

For educators, trust is everything. Our careers, our reputations, and our calling depend on that trust. That is precisely why, when we see verifiable evidence of misconduct, we act. We act to protect kids.
