Overall, i think i understood the story better than my first time reading it, but i still don’t see the appeal in any of it - except Nick Carraway bc he’s so godamn funny he saves the whole book. 2.5/5 stars 🌟.

- it really is just the summer situationship of nick carraway huh.- his dashing neighbour, his golf champion lover.- also Jordan being a cheat at golf? funny as fuck icl you go girl.- everyone else is cheating on partners, she’s just cheating at golf 😭😭😭.

- but i also liked how it critiqued the lives of the rich, how Daisy was unaffected by so many things, how they didn’t seem to feel the same way about things.- hmmmm.

- but i didn’t love the writing style of it all.- I thought Jordan was Interesting, but she’s so much better in the musical 😭.- like that’s all i could think about.

- like genuinely idek what to say about this.- Nicks narration and pov of all the events is (unintentionally) so so funny.- he’s just thirdwheeling on every single couple, GATSBY DRAGS HIM AROUND NEARLY EVERYTIME DAISY IS OVER.- SET THE MAN FREE.

FINISHED: the great gatsby!.- so the musical is 100x better than whatever the heck this was.- and this was my second time reading it I HAD SUCH HIGH HOPES.- NICK WHY WERE YOU IN A RANDOM MANS BEDROOM WHILE HE WAS NAKED????
