Was lucky enough to attend an excellent Verduno tasting a couple of months back (a little late posting I know) with members of the Jereboam club. The wines produced by Burlotto were on serious form π

Decided on extending my 50th Birthday trip to Piedmont by dining out on fresh black truffle tajarin and a pretty decent bottle of Barolo. Thoroughly enjoyable π

Barolo and Barbaresco for my 50th, what an amazing place, especially visiting Alba during the White truffle festival. One trip β
off my bucket list π€

I loved this, a cut above any other 2002 clarets I have drunk to date. I think mouton is possibly my favourite claret, I just love its majesty

Drank this beauty on the weekend, a limited edition release. Prado Enea is tip top Rioja, fully mature, multi layered with superb length. It turned out to be a very enjoyable Saturday evening π·π«Ά

A Magnum party with friends of the @MystereWineClub Some excellent wines on show, the magnum of Yquem with a home made Tarte Tatin stole the show π

A Spanish Rhone blend full of warm spice, bramble fruits, vanilla and perfectly mature. Went rather well with home made Paella π₯ π

This was a pretty special, matured Brunello (drank last weekend), such a pleasure to drink. One bottle left, like hens teeth to find.

Last months tasting with @MystereWineClub was a tasting of the excellent wines of San Leonardo. Many top critics rate their best wine (called San Leonardo, a Bordeaux blend) as good as Sassicaia (which after tasting the wines I tend to agree with). The 2015 vintage was superb π

Drank this Leoville Las Cases a few weeks back. Was decent claret but not as good as the Chateau Palmer I had over the weekend (nor was it as good as I remember drinking it a couple of years back)βΉοΈ. Have a bottle left, hopefully it was just a victim bottle variationπ€

1997 Flaccianello, bought at auction, convinced by the fill level and not the label π€¨ Its in an excellent place π Full of life, with a sweet core of fruit, lovely tertiary flavours, excellent balance and length. Donβt be put off by a damaged (or illegible) label π· β
