Where Relay Modern was born, 2016 — also pictured: React (as Fiber was being born), Flow, GraphQL. Quite possibly my favorite time at FB. Open-plan offices aren't always bad.

Trying out Microsoft's SwiftKey keyboard. The first thing I notice is it won't let me type "Google" when swiping. 🧐.

2025: Apple cloud products still plagued by failures to sync, mysterious hangs, and opaque error messages. Support forums populated with useless suggestions ranging from turning it off and on again to wiping and reinstalling while holding your nose and hopping on one leg.

First experience with Cloudflare workers: not bad. Some annoying fiddling to get worker + static Next.js app to have exactly the behavior I wanted, but other than that little speed bump, delightfully simple.

Bingo: found the smoking gun (or at least the smoke from the gun) in another tmux pane:. error: cannot lock ref 'refs/remotes/origin/main'. Looks like I was overzealous in running `git pull` in a superproject in one pane, and in a submodule in another pane, at the same time.

First time I've seen this in 18 years of using Git. fatal: Cannot fast-forward to multiple branches. Looking in FETCH_HEAD, I see the list of branches repeated twice. Wonder if it's a bug? A race? 🤔.

As I use LLMs more and more, I feel my brain rotting. Is this augmented cognition, or the end of my ability to do Advent of.Code? 🤔.

Bumped the Command-T version number straight to 6.1 (from 6.0.0-b.1) seeing as it has been accruing features. Was going to go all the way to 26, but didn't want to be accused of being an Apple fanboy
