Hospitals around London are in absolute free fall with massive amounts of cancer and other life saving operations simply unable to be carried out due to the burden from covid. Meanwhile Ron yet again puts his hat in the ring with the other charlatans downplaying the pandemic.
My friends at acute sites are consistently saying that this surge on top of already full ICU's is making this worse then April. Ron's target audience is happy though
@willtube4food
Thatโs really grossly unfair. These are national, publicly available data and unpresented only as fact. In a subsequent tweet I highlighted the alarming level of escalation in London.
@SepsisUK
It isn't, you've cherry picked parts of a report to undermine messaging as you have all pandemic. Soft qualifying statements in replies isn't fooling anyone
@willtube4food
Dr Ron has provided balance throughout, neither dismissing the seriousness of the situation nor promoting fear. He has provided comfort and information to many. The only reason many are skeptical is because anyone who raises any positivity is shut down which engenders mistrust
@Heachy_1979
He, like Sikora, yeadon and heneghan has been wrong with almost every statement throughout the pandemic. Most recently that there wasn't going to be a second wave and, once it started, that it wasn't going to be as significant.
@Andfoz
Of course they are but isolated data points free from context in something as complex as health systems, with a pandemic with strong regional effects can be completely misleading. If hospital occupancy was half what it was in April we'd be laughing.
@willtube4food
Hi ya. Thought I'd just say that it's possible for two things to be true at once. Practice that with these two statements:
- some hospitals in London are currently overrun
- nationally, the number of covid patients in ICUs is just over 50% of April's total
@willtube4food
@silv24
Today 6000 active cases in my area , it doesn't feel safe enough to go work ๐๐ this is so much worse than first wave WTF ๐ฌ ๐
@willtube4food
There were no reported cases of Covid-19 in London in the week up to Dec 27.
Covid 19 is a notifiable disease and would be required by a statutory duty to notify CCDC (Consultant in Communicable Disease Control)

I think that's a legitimate criticism the current reporting is only just starting to reflect the gravity of what's happening. My understanding is NHS England have blocked lots of requests,
@ShaunLintern
has spoke of this and is doing excellent work with the information he can.
