Indies who don't use genAi and care about this issue should clearly let players know. Omission possibly means culpability, now. There's a timeline where responsibly using genAi is okay, but there's so much abuse and issues with the tech in our world, we can't all just give up.
Larian admits to AI usage. E33 used AI. KCD2 allegedly used AI. Activision is using AI. Xbox is using AI. GTA 6 definitely is using AI. Indie studios with small teams probably use AI in some capacity. The chances your fav studio uses AI is extremely high, even if they don’t say

"Indie" has been incredibly broad/muddy for years now. "Publisher? Not indie!" Ok, so delete most full-time indies, big and small. "Million dollar budget? Not indie!" Ok, Silksong and Hades aren't indies then. Imo, imo, an indie is one or more dev with full authority over 1/2
Speaking earnestly in any capacity about Geoff Keighleys yearly celebrity circlejerk show is already a joke in and of itself, but I'm gonna do it anyway: it's so incredibly shitty that these industry plant ass games made by huge teams are being talked about as if they're "indie"
