He sacrificed himself to save the Resistance, apologized to Leia and to the person he failed the hardest, Ben.
The last scene is literally a bunch of kids playing with his action figures after feeling inspired by what he did.
Your "Rian Johnson ruined Luke" argument is invalid.
Piss off with the “Rian trapped JJ in a corner with that Last Jedi ending” takes.
Yes, a small band of rebels with terrible odds going up against a massive, ever growing First Order fleet led by Leia’s son sounds completely unusable.
*shouts*
The reveal of Rey’s parents in TLJ wasn’t a mystery-box set-up for Episode IX to eventually reveal her real parents. That scene was about Rey finally letting go of her denial, admitting the truth and moving on. She moved on from the past.
the forehead touch and then will trying to leave but elizabeth can’t let him go and hans zimmer is freaking the FUCK OUT in the background with the violins
@wyattyhalpert
can’t wait to debunk your argument by cherry picking single frames from entire two hour long movies to prove how much darker and grimmer in comparison the new one is
You’ll never get a film like The Last Jedi under Feige’s supervision. One of the reasons it works so well is because it is the total antithesis of Marvel’s formula.
Its more akin to Alfonso Cuarón’s Prisoner of Azkaban than anything else in the current blockbuster landscape.
You guys keep on pitting TROS against DOTF, I’m just gonna cry and drink myself to an early grave thinking about how thematically fluid, stunning, consistent, equal parts bold and familiar Rian Johnson’s Episode IX would’ve been
possibly the only “what if?” scenario in Star Wars that could interest me is a Rian Johnson-helmed Episode IX
other than that, I honestly despise the whole concept
Grace Randolph is the woman who blamed Kelly Marie Tran for her harassment on social media. If you still listen to and believe whatever bullshit comes out of her mouth every week, then you my friend are a fucking idiot.
Remember how mad the chuds were that Luke did his force projection thing and then Rian found a sourcebook that was like decades old establishing it was already a thing
what a goddamn winner
Its a major growth for her character that many people just ignore.
“Kylo lied to her about her parents. IX will reveal that she’s a Skywalker or Solo.”
Good lord, can you guys get anymore boring?
Star Wars is so incredibly misunderstood at Collider its fucking amazing, like all you need to do is watch a 10 second clip of their show to realise how utterly clueless they are
Also, are we really gonna sit here and act like his force projection isn't the powerful use of the force we've seen on screen?
C'mon, this guy is a fucking badass.

If you’re saying Brie Larson is a bad actress then you’ve probably never seen a Brie Larson performance and are just jumping on the hate bandwagon because excessively watching alt-right Youtube videos has fucked your mind.
The Fand*m Menace engages in a specific form of hate revolving around racism, misogyny, homophobia and saying there’s no difference between them and the people who are making harmless, usually well articulated critiques about your favourite movie undermines that
I don’t understand why this fandom wants every new character to just be a fucking clone? (Also, if that’s your takeaway from the mirror scene, you missed the point mate)
Stop watching dumb fan theory videos on Youtube that have zero thematic or emotional weightage.
Start paying attention to the message that the creators are trying to convey with their story.
JJ & CT’s obsession with Luke and Leia’s relationship is the most surprising thing to come out of IX, it’s actually amazing how much they’ve talked about it in all the post-release press
How did this become the focal point of the saga?
A hero is someone we can relate to, someone that faces obstacles and finds ways to either overcome them or cope and deal with them throughout the story.
Finn’s arc is awesome & its very obvious at the end of TLJ that he’s a changed person. You can bitch about the casino & the horse race, but to act like his development is non existent or that “Rian pushed him aside to elevate Kylo” is stupid.
(Also, Rose is great)
“No one’s ever really gone” might be my favourite line in all of Star Wars
It reminds us of the key themes of the saga (hope, redemption, love) & also works as a reference to Han, but more importantly Rian gave Carrie the most poignant, beautiful send-off without even meaning to
This whole situation has reaffirmed what we already knew, Star Wars fandom is without a doubt the most neckbeard racist misogynistic club to exist online. No competition.
i think its unfortunate that there’s a crowd that simply refuses to engage with last jedi as anything other than a “meta deconstruction”. it is partly a deconstruction, sure, its also about other things!
part of the reason the Star Wars sequels will never really be reclaimed to the level of the prequels is that they’re not about anything except the Star Wars brand. all three of them are metafictional commentaries on the State of the Franchise. literally who cares about that shit
So sick of folks saying “that movie broke the fanbase” to prove that TLJ is a bad movie. Lol
As if this godforsaken fandom never disagreed on anything before TLJ came out. These people were literally out in the streets with guitars and shit singing “Lucas raped our childhoods!”.
