Can’t say I’m surprised by this news. I broke the story in 2020 about Running Tide’s first VC round in my @MaineStartups newsletter. Found it weird the founder never responded to multiple interview requests to discuss the company’s business model & technology. h/t @PressHerald

I know media outlets are tempted to put out gift guides because they provide another revenue stream via affiliate links, but those gift guides should be targeted at their audience. I don’t follow @WIRED for pots & pans.
We've gathered great deals on a bunch of kitchen essentials, including stand mixers, food processors, and pans.

Not surprised, but I’ll always remember TinyLetter as the first writer-focused newsletter tool I found (after years using email marketing tools like Constant Contact) in 2015 when I launched the @MaineStartups newsletter.
