Very sorry that @Twitterrific has had its access revoked, at zero notice. It was the way that I accessed Twitter - I have no interest in using the web browser. As such this is likely to be my last ever tweet. Those interested in what I'm doing should visit my website's blog page.

Today marks the end of an era. Sadly, we've been forced to pull Twitterrific from both the iOS and Mac App Stores. Twitter’s unexplained revocation of our API access has left the app with no path forward. Please read our blog for more information🖖

Amused by this rather substantial underestimate in the iPad version of the November edition of Scientific American. The authors, of course, meant 10 *to the power of* 82, not 1082!

Looking forward immensely to BBC2's Newsnight returning to our screens this evening. Feels like it's been away an eternity.

Presumably the Celtic players will be wearing black armbands, in honour of Frank, for the Old Firm game tomorrow…

2022 was great for science. The JWST deployed successfully and has produced already some fantastic images of deep space, the Lawrence Livermore lab had promising results with their latest fusion energy experiments & the Ingenuity helicopter on Mars has now clocked up 37 flights.

Really enjoyed listening on Radio 4 to the BBC Correspondents' Look-Ahead for 2023 - always interesting to see what predictions are made for the incoming year. https://t.co/P9fcvCGh1S

Utterly disappointed with my fellow Aberdeen fans for the racist abuse of Anthony Stewart. Had hoped that we were above that level of vile language. Evidently not. https://t.co/YxioFRhA1e

Really enjoyed reading this library copy of Blake Crouch’s sci-fi novel “Recursion”. A clever set-up and a spectacular ending all made for a most enjoyable read. A novel that would make for a great Christopher Nolan film!

Commiserations to England on their defeat to France last night. The margins between winning and losing are fine indeed at the international level! I thought that Kyle Walker was superb at right back, handling the threat from Mbappé extremely well. https://t.co/y5K9tYvmAK

Farming Today is another example of "only on the BBC" programming that we'll really miss if the Beeb's radio service is allowed to wither and die. Proponents of abolishing the TV licence fee never appear to consider the impact that this would have on radio output.

I think Farming Today may be the most informative Programme on the BBC. On climate,Brexit, budget, all sorts of policy areas and global trends you get proper detail and a sense of impact. If 0545 every day is a bit early for you -listen to the weekly omnibus on BBC sounds.

Hard not to see this decision as @ICOnews maintaining its reputation as a "scaredy cat regulator". A fine in the order of tens of millions of pounds would have sent a strong message to industry that they needed to take data privacy seriously. A missed opportunity ...
