Last night we took members of Wychavon RG & South Manchester RG out with the thermal camera to encourage a collaborative approach to sharing ringing experiences and increase our understanding of birds. We managed to catch 8 Skylark & a Grey Partridge. @_BTO #birdringing

Out with @mattthesparrow in Wiltshire this week. This gives an idea as to how we are surveying Skylarks at night

Was hoping to get some bird ringing done soon but weather is very up and down. Fingers crossed it improves so we can monitor our birds this year.

Fantastic weather to sit outside at the cafe and watch the birds on the lake this morning. Cool and moorhen chicks doing well and very friendly mallards to feed.

A few young birds about today, which is great to see after the heavy rain early in the season. Whitethroat calling in the marsh.

Three Little owls ringed today in the West Midlands, same female who had 2 chicks last year. It just shows what you can achieve by creating a home for wildlife. #nestbox @_BTO

Flying drones, unlicensed playing of tape lures, walking through clear nesting sites and this is all in areas where there are also schedule1 breeding birds. We will continue to challenge those doing it. Give the wildife a break and think before you disturb. #WildlifeCrime

In 2016 we reduced the height of the willow in marsh lane at the back of Wheats and places the cuttings to form a fence. 2017 saw an increase in warblers at the site and hoping 2018 brings even more to this fantastic habitat
