I read an article where a mental health expert called today’s teenagers Generation U. The U stood for uncertainty. from a global pandemic. political unrest, that the planet might die, because of the threat of school shootings and racial disparity and the list goes on. Sigh.

I know it's my job to teach my teens about life and all but it's hard when they already know everything.

Having a teenager is fun because you will have someone to point out every single thing you do wrong in a day while simultaneously needing to be taught that certain things catch fire in a microwave and that dishwasher detergent and dish soap are not, in fact, interchangeable.

Whenever my teen walks into my room smiling, snuggles up to me in my bed, and asks me how my day went, my heart melts. I also know a whopper ask is about to come out of her mouth.

Apparently it's my fault the next season of Outer Banks isn't out yet in case you were wondering why my teen looks annoyed this morning. .

Am I happy my teen came into talk to me last night? Yes. Am I happy it was at 11 p.m. and I was already half asleep? Not so much.
