Earlier, at lunchtime, and my appetite is strong! 💪🏻

3/ I’m back at the Dick Vet in the middle of July, to the oncology department, for a CT scan, to see how my chest is looking once I’ve healed from the surgery, and to establish a ‘baseline’ for all future CT scans. I’ll be getting scans every three months from July on.

2/ and my blood results look healthy, including the presence of a high level of ‘regenerative cells’ showing that my body is working hard on the healing process. There are still signs of some inflammation (potentially from pneumonia) so I’m on antibiotics for another week.

Some good news friends. My lymph nodes test shows that the mass has not spread to create a secondary cancer elsewhere. Massive relief there. Had more blood tests on Monday and my liver enzymes are waaaay down - they had been very elevated post surgery. 1/

Working on my Vocal Exercises… 📣 Mum can’t give me a hard time over this as it’s important to exercise my lungs!

And then this moment - the first time I rolled onto my back to doze. I always sleep like this but haven’t been breathing well enough since coming home - until this afternoon 🥹

Then there was a really tasty breakfast. I slept well last night and my breathing is SO much better today. The vets suspected that I’ve had pneumonia and I’ve been on antibiotics - feeling such a difference today.

Today’s mood was a lot like this… ❤️ I’ve had a really settled day. My breathing seems better today, although I’m still having times when my breath is catching and I need to clear my throat - the vets think I have pneumonia and I’m on antibiotics so this should clear soon 🙏🏻

3/ but - and it’s a big but - he’s fought like the toughest little man this week, so we’re taking this one step at a time and focusing on where we are today compared to last Friday when hope felt so very fragile. The vet team at the Dick Vet Hospital have been *incredible* 🥹💛

2/ still many worries - he’s on antibiotics as *might* have pneumonia. So we know his breathing is going to be challenged. And we’re waiting to hear from the oncology department re further treatment options. So, there are layers to this news…

An unexpected update today: he’s coming home. We’re on our way to the Dick Vet hospital now to pick up our boy 🥹 He’s still off oxygen, is on less pain meds, so minus anything intravenous the vet thinks he’s better being at home than in a busy ICU. 1/

3/ Harris is also getting “a bit annoyed with everyone” this afternoon, so that shows that he’s feeling more himself. Of course, it also suggests stress, but all in all this is a positive step forward from where we were on Tuesday x 🙏🏻❤️
