Exactly!.
System is so broken: .- researchers write papers no one reads.- reviewers don't have time to review, shamed to coauthors, use LLMs instead of reading .- authors try to fool said LLMs with prompt injection .- evaling researchers based on # of papers (no time to read) . Dystopic.

Since most researchers at major ML conferences are at most partial experts for the domain, in particular with respect to the mathematical foundations, nitpicking is all they can do . #sadly.
I’d add that reviewers should focus on why a paper should be accepted, rather than why it should be rejected. This focus leads to more interesting and ambitious work appearing at the conference.
