The #KnifeAngel left Birkenhead last week (1 August) but has left a lasting legacy. ➡️ 54% reduction in the number of offences involving a knife in July (compared to June). ➡️ 350 knives have been surrendered and taken off the streets of Merseyside over the course of July

It's Anti-social Behaviour Week (18-22 July) so we're working with @MerseyPolice and other partners to highlight support for residents. This will see door-knocking in Greasby, Woodchurch and Seacombe as well as the mobile police station in key locations across Wirral.

Wirral Council & #TeamWallasey obtained Closure Order at Liverpool Mags Court after succession of crime & anti-social behaviour incidents at address in Egremont. Order remains until 13th September 2022. A breach could incur 3 month prison sentence and/or fine up to £5K

Highlighting the horrors of knife crime the sculpture has been touring the UK to raise awareness of knife crime and how it affects communities, families and individuals. Surrender bins for the safe disposal of knives will be in place next to the sculpture.
