Dates for your diary this weekend as part of @heritageopenday. We have 3 exciting events happening in and around the library. There is also the summer reading challenge medal ceremony, paper pastimes, the tram man displays to enjoy. Come along and enjoy the sunshine.

We are excited about the launch of the @WalkleyFestival ! Join us on Saturday 24 June 10-2 for our amazing medley of activities. There will be the Walkley Wimbledon treasure hunt (see the prizes below), meet the Walkley historians, a wild art drop in workshop, and book sale.

If you complete the treasure hunt you’ll get one of our special stickers, plus you’ll be entered into our draw to win a cuddly Elmer of your very own ❤️

Hip hip hooray, it’s Elmer Day! To celebrate everyone’s favourite patchwork elephant, we’ve got loads of fun activities for you on Saturday 27th May, including puzzles, crafts and a treasure hunt, plus lots of lovely Elmer books for you to read of course!

There’s no better way than to start your week than with a new book! Look at what’s new in the library. We are open Monday 1-5pm.

A medieval morning is coming to Walkley library on 22 April. Timing: 10.30-13.00. The event is free. There’s activities for 5-12 year olds including: - medieval pair games, matching pictures of animals from medieval manuscripts - choose your own stories based on medieval stories

A significant amount of lead has been stolen off the Library roof. We’re open as normal and volunteers are working hard to keep the building safe and warm for everyone to visit. If you saw anything, please contact the police.

We are pleased to announce that the kind donation by Kathy Bentley’s family has been used to buy books we know she would have loved. Kathy was an avid reader and used Walkley library for 55 years. You can find these in the library and each one has a special inscription inside. 📚
